Dimensions Apart

Only through love and compassion can we begin to see and understand the uniqueness in others, no matter how different they may seem or appear to be.  For everyone’s sake we need to try and understand how they think and feel, what their wants and needs are and how they express those things.

I always thought that those with special needs were so gifted.  I thought that they were not of this world but above us, closer to heaven and brought here to us for a reason.  The lesson is to teach us that there is a huge difference between the body, spirt and mind.  The lesson is to never judge.  The lesson is that love comes in many forms and many in ways.  That love doesn’t have to be spoken, and can be felt from such a long distance, but you know the love is there, you can feel it.

Taking care of someone with special needs has got to be one of the most loving, kind and selfless acts there is.  It requires the patience of a saint.  At those weakest of moments it will test your faith, it will leave you with more questions than answers and at the end of those moments a new level of love has revealed itself.  Just know that your rewards come during those special moments when a new milestone has been reached.  It is when the impossible happens because of you.  During your trials, just know that you were handpicked for the job, because you, like no other, could do it with love and compassion.  I write this because, somewhere somebody is struggling to reach a milestone and to tell them to hang on, it is because of the love and patience they show that it can be reached.

Over the last two years I have been very busy with other projects, and it has consumed much of my time.  I am looking forward to devoting more time to learn about subjects that I would like to know more about.  So, for 2018 I will be learning as much as I can about Autism, depression and many others.  I know a little about each, but nowhere near where I need to be.

When strong people get knocked down they pick themselves up and go back at it.  What happens when you can’t get back up?  What happens when you don’t have the strength or will to be able to get back up?  It is hard for me to imagine but so many deal with these things on a daily basis.  There is so much to learn and understand.  It is my hope to be able to learn more about it.

I am a firm believer that angels are not just in heaven.  They walk among us; they guide us, teach us and love us.  Angels come in all forms.  Even people we don’t understand or get along with are Angels.  They are angels because we learn through them, which brings about an awareness in us.  And in turn, the qualities that we possess will reflect in them as well.
